Becket and Washington's Community Library

The Becket Athenaeum

Becket’s Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) working group is planning four “mini outreach sessions” during the months of November & December in preparation for the official MVP planning session in January.

The Becket Athenaeum is hosting one of these sessions on December 10th, 7-8:30pm.

Becket was awarded an MVP grant to identify areas that are vulnerable to high water, rising temperatures, and wild wind. The climate is changing- let's share ideas about how nature-based solutions can help us prepare!

You know your area best: where the water collects, drains, what invasive plants are encroaching, and where you avoid when it’s hot or windy. The town's planning process is only as strong as we make it. We’ll look at a map of Becket, see some examples of other projects neighboring towns have undertaken and enjoy some lively discussion with Meredyth Babcock and some of the "Core Team" members. This is your opportunity to include your ideas in our MVP plan. Let your voice be heard!!

To register, please email info@bwlibrary.org or call 413-623-5483.

Refreshments will be served.
