How It Works:
Parent/Guardian:
Work with your reader to determine ambitious and achievable reading goals, increasing gradually throughout the program.
Provide your reader with a reading log and assist in tracking their progress. A log is available here or from the library.
Reader:*
Use your reading log to keep track of the time you spend reading
Ask your parent/guardian to email or drop off your reading log to the library
*If the reader is not yet an independent reader, the reading log should track time spent practicing reading and/or being read to.
To best keep all types and levels of readers motivated, reading goals are to be set by the reader’s parent/guardian. Library staff is happy to consult.
Tiered prizes are:
Pick a prize from our collection when each goal is reached
Grand prize awarded twice per year if reader has consistently reached their reading goals
