E-Catalog Overview

The Becket Athenaeum offers e-books, e-audiobooks, and magazines!

Use your tablet, smartphone, or computer to enjoy digital content.

Like physical library materials, electronic resources are checked out for a period of time. When they are due back, they simply leave your device and become available for the next interested patron. Also like other library materials, there are a limited number of digital copies so you may need to wait for a copy to become available.

Our patrons have access to the CW MARS network collection as well as seven additional collections: Boston, CLAMS, Merrimack Valley, Minuteman, NOBLE, Old Colony, and SAILS. Each library network has their own collection so an item that is not available from one, may be available from another. We recommend adding CW MARS and at least one other library network to your device.

  • Read/listen to bestsellers in fiction and nonfiction

  • Read magazines on CW MARS network only

  • A full range of content is available for children, including animated books

  • Check-out 6-10 items at once & have 10 on hold per library network (varies by network)

  • Choose your loan period: 7, 14, or 21 days (varies by network)

  • Recommend titles to be added to the collection

    • Run a search

    • On the results page, select "Recommend to library" under the "Availability" filter

    • Titles not in our digital collection will have a "Not owned" banner and "Recommend" link

    • Click or tap "Recommend" to recommend a title

To get started, see below!

In order to gain access to Libby, you will need to have an active library card or a CW MARS ecard. If your card has expired, please update your contact information by calling or completing this form. To become a patron, please register here.

If you're new to e-books and need help, bring your device with you to the library and we'll help you get set up to take advantage of our vast collection! Otherwise, call or email and we’ll do our best to help you.

<IMPORTANT> To proceed, you will need to know your library card number and password associated with your account. The password is set to the last four digits of your phone number until you change it. If you don't know your card number, or are having issues, contact us. Complete this form to reset your password.

The app needed to access this digital content is Libby. Instructions are available by clicking on the logo.

OverDrive is being phased out. If you already have the OverDrive app installed, you can continue to use it for now, but it is no longer in active development. You are encouraged to upgrade to Libby. Your borrowing history from the OverDrive app will be available on your Timeline in Libby.

Users who switch from the APK version of Libby to the Amazon Appstore version of Libby may lose their Libby timeline activity, search history, and app customizations. You will not lose your loans, holds, or tags.
